The 07 area code covers Queensland, from Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast to Townsville, Cairns and Toowoomba. A small number of towns just over the border in northern New South Wales, such as Tweed Heads, also use 07. Like other Australian landline numbers, an 07 number has eight digits after the area code. Landline numbers can be carried over to VoIP services, so the prefix tells you which region the number was issued for, not where the caller is sitting. If you missed an 07 call, a reverse lookup can show the line type and any spam reports from other people. Businesses that make telemarketing calls must respect the Do Not Call Register.
A Queensland number on caller ID can be spoofed. Never give card details or one-time codes to an unexpected caller; report scams to Scamwatch.
Who called me from 07?
The prefix tells you where the line was originally registered (Queensland), but not who is behind it. Numbers can be ported between networks and caller ID can be spoofed, so a familiar code is no guarantee. Search the full number to see its current carrier, line type and whether other people have reported it.
