01622 is the area code for Maidstone, the county town of Kent and home of Kent County Council, and nearby villages. Calls from 01622 numbers frequently come from Kent County Council, Maidstone Borough Council, Maidstone Hospital, GP practices, schools and the many businesses in the area. Because the county council is based here, residents across Kent may receive calls from Maidstone numbers about services such as social care or schools. Geographic numbers are portable and can be used via the internet from anywhere, and they can be spoofed, so check unexpected callers independently.
Who called me from 01622?
The prefix tells you where the line was originally registered (Maidstone), but not who is behind it. Numbers can be ported between networks and caller ID can be spoofed, so a familiar code is no guarantee. Search the full number to see its current carrier, line type and whether other people have reported it.
