01872 is the area code for Truro and surrounding parts of mid-Cornwall. Truro is Cornwall's only city, home to Truro Cathedral, Cornwall Council's headquarters and the Royal Cornwall Hospital, so many public services across the county may call from 01872 numbers. Other callers include GP surgeries, schools, solicitors and local businesses. Geographic numbers can be ported to any UK provider and used over VoIP from anywhere, and fraudsters can spoof caller ID, so a Truro number on your phone does not by itself prove that a caller is genuine or local.
Who called me from 01872?
The prefix tells you where the line was originally registered (Truro), but not who is behind it. Numbers can be ported between networks and caller ID can be spoofed, so a familiar code is no guarantee. Search the full number to see its current carrier, line type and whether other people have reported it.
