01522 is the area code for Lincoln, the cathedral city that is home to Lincolnshire County Council, and surrounding villages. Lincoln has two universities, Lincoln County Hospital and a range of public sector and agricultural employers, and RAF stations are located in the wider county. Calls from 01522 numbers might come from the county or city council, NHS services, GP practices, universities or local businesses. Because UK geographic numbers are portable and can be used via VoIP anywhere, and because scammers can spoof caller ID, an 01522 number does not prove who is calling.
Who called me from 01522?
The prefix tells you where the line was originally registered (Lincoln), but not who is behind it. Numbers can be ported between networks and caller ID can be spoofed, so a familiar code is no guarantee. Search the full number to see its current carrier, line type and whether other people have reported it.
