01743 is the area code for Shrewsbury, the county town of Shropshire, and surrounding villages. Shrewsbury is a historic market town on the River Severn and is home to Shropshire Council and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. Calls from 01743 numbers may come from the council, NHS services, GP practices, schools, solicitors, agricultural businesses or local shops and tradespeople. Geographic numbers can be ported and used through internet phone services anywhere in the UK, and scammers can spoof caller ID, so a Shrewsbury number on your screen is not proof of who is calling.
Who called me from 01743?
The prefix tells you where the line was originally registered (Shrewsbury), but not who is behind it. Numbers can be ported between networks and caller ID can be spoofed, so a familiar code is no guarantee. Search the full number to see its current carrier, line type and whether other people have reported it.
