01422 is the area code for Halifax and the wider Calderdale area of West Yorkshire, including places such as Sowerby Bridge, Elland and Hebden Bridge. Halifax has a long banking history, and financial services remain a significant local employer alongside Calderdale Council, Calderdale Royal Hospital, schools, GP practices and manufacturers. A call from an 01422 number could come from any of these, or from anywhere else in the UK, because geographic numbers can be ported and used over VoIP. Caller ID can also be spoofed, so check unexpected requests through an official contact number.
Who called me from 01422?
The prefix tells you where the line was originally registered (Halifax), but not who is behind it. Numbers can be ported between networks and caller ID can be spoofed, so a familiar code is no guarantee. Search the full number to see its current carrier, line type and whether other people have reported it.
