01924 is the area code for Wakefield and nearby parts of West Yorkshire, including Dewsbury, Batley, Ossett and Horbury. Wakefield is a cathedral city and the home of West Yorkshire's police headquarters and several public bodies. Calls from 01924 numbers may come from Wakefield Council, Kirklees Council, Pinderfields Hospital, GP surgeries, schools, distribution firms or local businesses. An 01924 number can be ported or used via VoIP from elsewhere, and scammers can spoof any number, including ones that look like police or council lines, so verify unexpected callers independently.
Who called me from 01924?
The prefix tells you where the line was originally registered (Wakefield), but not who is behind it. Numbers can be ported between networks and caller ID can be spoofed, so a familiar code is no guarantee. Search the full number to see its current carrier, line type and whether other people have reported it.
