- Cost to call
- Calls to UK mobiles are usually included in mobile and most landline call bundles; outside a bundle, landline providers charge a per-minute mobile rate.
Numbers beginning 071 to 075 and 077 to 079 are UK mobile numbers, along with 07624 numbers used for mobiles on the Isle of Man. Ofcom allocates blocks to mobile networks, but because mobile numbers can be ported between networks the prefix only shows the original network, not the current one. A call from an 07 mobile number could be from a friend, a delivery driver, a tradesperson, a recruiter or a small business with no landline. 070 personal numbers and 076 pager numbers look similar but are not mobiles and can cost more to call. Mobile numbers can be spoofed, and are often used in text and WhatsApp scams.
Messages from an unknown 07 number claiming to be a family member with a new phone who urgently needs money are a common scam. Call the person on their known number first.
Who called me from 07?
The prefix tells you what kind of number it is (mobile), but not who is behind it. Numbers can be ported between networks and caller ID can be spoofed, so a familiar code is no guarantee. Search the full number to see its current carrier, line type and whether other people have reported it.
