0845 numbers were once marketed as 'local rate' numbers, but that description has not applied for many years. Since 1 July 2015 a call to an 0845 number costs an access charge set by your phone company plus a service charge set by the organisation, capped for 084 numbers at 7p per minute and/or 7p per call. Many banks, utilities and public bodies that used 0845 numbers moved to matching 0345 numbers, which cost the same as calling a landline. If you need to call an 0845 number, check whether a 0345 version with the same digits works. Calls showing an 0845 number can be spoofed.
Some websites list 0845 numbers that redirect to an organisation's free or cheaper number at extra cost. Use the contact details on the organisation's own website.
Who called me from 0845?
