Cost to call
Access charge set by your phone company plus a service charge set by the provider, up to £3.60 per minute and/or £6.00 per call. Not included in bundles.

0900 numbers are part of the 090 premium-rate range, which Ofcom uses for services other than sexual entertainment. Calls may be charged per minute or as a fixed price per call, and the service charge has to be displayed clearly wherever the number is promoted, for example in a TV competition, a phone-in vote or a magazine advert. Callers also pay their own phone company's access charge on top. Because 0900 numbers are designed to earn money for the service provider, there is little reason for a legitimate company to call you from one. Check costs before dialling, and be cautious with any message asking you to call an 0900 number.

Prize notifications that require you to ring an 0900 number to claim are a classic premium-rate scam.

Who called me from 0900?

The prefix tells you what kind of number it is (premium rate), but not who is behind it. Numbers can be ported between networks and caller ID can be spoofed, so a familiar code is no guarantee. Search the full number to see its current carrier, line type and whether other people have reported it.
